How to fold an origami book
The white side becomes the pages. Fold thin edges behind for the cover rim, fold the ends in as pages and turn down the corners at the spine so the pages dip.
You need: A 15 x 6 cm strip of paper, coloured on one side and white on the other. Easy, 3 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Cover edges. Coloured side up, long edges at the top and bottom. Fold a thin strip of the top and bottom edges behind, about 4 mm.
- Pages to the middle. Fold the left and right ends in to meet in the middle. These are the white pages, and the line where they meet is the spine.
- Dip the pages. Fold each page's corners next to the spine over on a gentle slant, so the pages dip into the middle at the top and the bottom.
Story time!
Draw lines of words on the pages. Make a pile of them in different colours for a tiny library.
