How to fold an origami cake slice
Fold the top and bottom edges in to make two cake layers with cream between, shape the corners into a wedge and glue a round red cherry on top.
You need: 1 square sheet, chocolate brown on one side, and a small red square. Medium, 7 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Top layer. White side up. Fold the top edge down so it stops just below the middle.
- Bottom layer. Fold the bottom edge up, leaving a thin white stripe between the two brown layers. That's the cream.
- Shape the wedge. Fold the top-left corner behind on a slant, from the left edge up to the top-right corner. Fold the bottom-right corner behind too.
- Cherry: new sheet. Set the cake aside. Take the small red square, red side up.
- Round the cherry. Red side up. Fold the four corners behind, the same amount each.
- Smooth it. Fold the eight little corners behind so the cherry is nice and round.
- Cherry on top. Glue the cherry on the slanted top of the cake, near the crusty end.
Party slice!
Draw the edges of the slice and a stem on the cherry. Pop it on a paper plate with a birthday candle.
