How to fold an origami camera
Fold the edges of a red square behind into a wide body, snip the side strips free and fold them up so they poke over the top as a viewfinder and a button. A black octagon is the lens.
You need: 1 red square (15 cm), 1 small black square (6 cm), scissors, glue and a white pen. Medium, 7 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Top and bottom behind. Red side up, fold the top edge behind about 4.5 cm and the bottom edge behind about 3 cm.
- Sides behind. Fold the left edge behind about 1 cm and the right edge behind about 2.5 cm.
- Snip the strips free. Snip along both side folds from the bottom edge up to just above the middle, so the lower parts of the strips behind come loose.
- Viewfinder and button. Fold each loose strip up behind, on a crease level with the end of the snip, so its end pokes up over the top edge.
- Lens: new sheet. Set the body aside. Take the small black square, black side up.
- Round the lens. Fold all four corners behind, about 1.5 cm, so the lens is nearly round.
- Glue on the lens. Glue the lens onto the front of the body, a little left of the middle.
Say cheese!
Draw a white ring and a shine on the lens and a small white flash window at the top left of the body.
