How to fold an origami candle
Fold a red square into a tall candle, a yellow diamond into a flame and a brass square into a little dish, then glue them together.
You need: A 15 cm red square, a 5 cm yellow square, a 9 cm brass or gold square and a glue stick. Medium, 9 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Candle: sides behind. Red side up. Fold the left and right edges behind, about 5 cm each, so the candle is tall and thin.
- Candle: soft top. Fold the two top corners behind a tiny bit.
- Flame: yellow diamond. Set the candle aside. Take the yellow square, yellow side up, turned like a diamond.
- Flame: a point on top. Fold the two top edges behind so they meet along the middle, making a tall point.
- Flame: round bottom. Fold the bottom point behind, so the flame is round at the bottom.
- Holder: brass square. Set the flame aside. Take the brass square, coloured side up.
- Holder: in half. Fold the top half behind, down to the bottom edge.
- Holder: dish shape. Fold the bottom corners behind on a slant, so the holder is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom.
- Light it up. Glue the candle behind the holder, standing up. Glue the flame just above the candle's top.
Glowing softly!
Draw a wick, colour a white wax drip running down, a bright heart in the flame and a handle loop.
