How to fold an origami vase
Fold the sides of a square behind, narrow the top into a slim neck on two long slants and round the corners. A small gold strip, folded into a flared band, is the lip.
You need: 1 blue square (15 cm), 1 small gold strip (6 × 3 cm), glue and a white pen. Medium, 6 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Sides behind. Coloured side up, fold the left and right edges behind, about 3 cm each.
- Slim neck. Fold the top corners behind on long slants, from the middle of each side to near the top centre, leaving a slim neck.
- Round the belly. Fold the two shoulder corners and the two bottom corners behind, about 2 cm, so the vase has a round belly.
- Lip: new strip. Set the vase aside. Take the small gold strip, gold side up, long sides level.
- Lip: flare it. Fold the two short ends behind on a slant, more at the bottom than the top, so the strip flares out upwards.
- Glue on the lip. Glue the lip across the top of the neck, wide edge up, so it covers the neck's top edge.
Ready for flowers
Draw a band of white dots around the belly. Stand a few paper tulips behind it for a bunch of flowers.
