How to fold an origami little candle
A kite with its sides folded behind makes the straight candle. A small pleat drops the kite's tip into a slim flame on top.
You need: 1 square sheet, red on one side and white on the other. Easy, 6 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the left corner onto the right corner, crease well and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the centre crease.
- Sides behind. Fold the left and right sides behind along straight up-and-down lines, so the kite becomes a slim column with a point.
- Flat bottom. Fold the white bottom point behind along the bottom of the kite.
- Point behind. Fold the pointed top behind, where the straight sides begin.
- Flame up. Behind, fold the point back up a little lower. Its tip pops up above the candle as a slim flame.
Glowing!
Add a glow to the flame and stripes round the candle in white pen. Stand a row of them along a card for a birthday or a holiday.
