How to fold an origami coat hanger
Fold a long strip in half twice into a thin bar. Then turn it at each corner, a fold at a time: up the two sloping shoulders, and up again and over for the hook.
You need: 1 purple strip, 21 x 3 cm (cut along the long side of an A4 sheet). Medium, 7 steps, about 12 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. White side up, fold the strip in half along its length, bottom edge up onto the top edge.
- In half again. Fold it in half along its length again: a thin purple bar.
- Right shoulder. About a third from the right end, fold the right part up and back over on a slant so it climbs to the middle, above the bar.
- Up for the hook. Where it reaches the middle, fold the end straight up.
- Bend the hook. Fold the end over to the right with a square fold, then down with another, so it hooks over.
- Hook down. Now fold the tip down so the hook can catch on a rail.
- Left shoulder. Fold the left end up on a slant the same way, so it climbs to the middle and meets the hook.
Hang it up!
Your coat hanger is ready for a doll's dress or a tiny paper shirt.
