How to fold an origami cow face

Fold a square into a white cow face with a pink muzzle band, then glue it on a black strip folded into pointy ears and a cream strip with two horns. Draw the patches, eyes and nostrils.

You need: 3 papers, white on the back: a pink 15 cm square, a black 15 × 7 cm strip, a cream 15 × 2 cm strip; scissors, glue, a black pen. Medium, 11 steps, about 12 minutes.

Steps

  1. Head: pink muzzle. Start with the pink square, white side up. Fold the bottom edge up just past the middle, so a wide pink band shows.
  2. Head: sides behind. Fold the left and right sides behind on a slant, so the face is narrower at the top than at the muzzle.
  3. Head: blunt the top. Fold the two top corners behind a little.
  4. Head: round the muzzle. Snip the two bottom corners round with a few short cuts.
  5. Ears: new sheet. Set the head aside. Take the black strip, white side up, long side across.
  6. Ears: fold in half. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge.
  7. Ears: make points. Fold the corners at each end behind on a slant, so both ends come to a point like a leaf.
  8. Horns: new sheet. Set the ears aside. Take the cream strip, white side up, long side across.
  9. Horns: ends up. Fold each end up on a slant, creasing from a third of the way in along the bottom edge, so it stands up and leans out a little.
  10. Horns: snip the tips. Snip the top of each horn to a point.
  11. Glue it together. Glue the ears behind the head, a third of the way down. Glue the head over the middle of the horns so they stick up above it.

Moo!

Draw two black patches, round eyes, two big nostrils on the pink muzzle and a smile.
