How to fold an origami crocodile face
A kite makes the long snout. The top point folds down, is snipped in two and flips back up as a pair of bumpy eyes. Draw a row of sharp white teeth along each side.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, green on one side, and scissors. Medium, 9 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Start white side up, turned like a diamond. Fold the left corner over to meet the right corner.
- Open it again. Unfold it back into a diamond. You will snip the eyes apart along this middle crease later.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the centre crease.
- Turn it over. Flip the kite over so it is all green.
- Fold the top down. Fold the top point down until its tip touches the line between the two side corners.
- Snip the eyes apart. Cut the white triangle in half along the middle crease, from its tip up to the fold.
- Eyes up. Fold each half back up, creasing from the middle of the top edge, so its point sticks up and out as an eye.
- Eye tips behind. Fold the very tip of each eye behind.
- Shape the head. Fold the two back corners of the head behind, from the bottom of each eye to the side. Then fold the tip of the snout behind.
