How to fold an origami little cruise ship

Fold the bottom behind for the hull and slope the top corners. Two pleats drop the top into stepped decks, and one slant points the bow.

You need: 1 sheet twice as long as it is tall (half a square), blue on one side, and a white pen. Easy, 7 steps, about 6 minutes.

Steps

  1. Hull bottom. Lay the long sheet blue side up. Fold the bottom edge behind, about a third of the way up.
  2. Slope the top. Fold both top corners behind on long slants: from a third of the way along the top edge down to each end, about two-thirds of the way down.
  3. First deck. Fold the top behind along a level line a little above where the slopes end.
  4. Step it up. Behind, fold that part back up a little lower, so the top peeks out again with a step at each side.
  5. Second deck. Do it again higher up: fold the top behind about halfway down the raised part.
  6. Step it up. Behind, fold it back up a little lower, so a narrower top deck peeks out over the others.
  7. Point the bow. Fold the bottom right corner behind on a slant up to the deck, so the front of the hull points forward like a bow.

All aboard!

With a white pen, dot a row of portholes along the hull and little windows along the two upper decks.
