How to fold an origami deer face
Fold a long narrow kite, snip the top and swing the halves out into two big ears. Draw a white muzzle and dot white fawn spots on the forehead.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, fawn brown on one side, scissors and a white gel pen. Medium, 9 steps, about 7 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Turn the square like a diamond, white side up. Fold the left corner onto the right corner.
- Open it again. Unfold it, so there is a crease down the middle.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the middle crease.
- Make it long. Fold the two upper edges in to the middle crease too. Now you have a long, narrow face.
- Turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
- Snip the ears. Cut down the middle crease from the top point, almost halfway down.
- Swing out the ears. Fold the inner edge of each half out, on a line from the end of the cut, so the two big ears point out to the sides.
- Round the cheeks. Fold the left and right points behind, about 1 cm in, so the face is rounder.
- Blunt the chin. Fold the bottom point behind, about 2 cm up.
Hello, little fawn!
Colour a white muzzle with a black nose, draw big shiny eyes and a smile. Dot white spots on the forehead and white streaks in the ears.
