How to fold an origami easy duckling
A kite folded in half and laid on its side. Fold the long point up as a neck, its tip forward as a bill, and the short point up as a tail.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, yellow on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 8 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the diagonal. White side up, like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the centre crease.
- Turn it over. Flip the kite over, keeping the long point at the bottom.
- Fold in half. Fold the left half behind the right half.
- Lay it down. Turn it so the fold is at the bottom and the long point aims right.
- Lift the neck. Fold the long point up on a slant, with the crease starting 9.5 cm from its tip, so it stands up as a neck leaning a little forward.
- Fold the bill. Fold the top 3 cm of the neck forward and down, so the tip points straight ahead as a little bill.
- Flick the tail. Fold the short point at the back up on a slant, about 4 cm from its tip, so it pokes up as a tail.
Quack!
Draw a dot eye just under the bill. Fold a few more and line up a whole family of ducklings.
