How to fold an origami key
Fold a small gold square into a round bow, fold a gold strip into a shaft and bend its end down, along and back up into the teeth.
You need: A 7.5 cm gold square, a 2.5 x 15 cm gold strip and a glue stick. Medium, 7 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Bow: corners behind. Gold side up. Fold all four corners behind, about 2 cm each, so the square gets eight even sides. This is the round bow.
- Shaft: gold strip. Set the bow aside. Take the strip, white side up, lying across.
- Shaft: in half. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, top edge down to the bottom edge.
- Bit: bend down. Near the right end, fold the end straight down on a slant.
- Bit: bend along. About 2.5 cm lower, fold the end to the right on a slant.
- Bit: bend up. About 2 cm along, fold the end straight up on a slant, so it reaches back up to the shaft. That makes the teeth.
- Glue on the bow. Glue the bow on the left end of the shaft.
What does it open?
Draw a round hole in the bow. Hide it in a box and make a treasure map to find it.
