How to fold an origami ladybug
Fold a triangle, turn its front point up to make a white tummy and fold the corners down into wings that part in a thin V. Fold the top and the corners behind to round it, then draw on the head and the spots.
You need: 1 square sheet, red on one side, a black pen and a white gel pen. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Make a triangle. Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom corner.
- Front point up. Fold just the front layer's bottom point up to the middle of the top edge. White shows.
- Wings down. Fold the left and right corners down so their tips land just either side of the bottom point, leaving a thin white V between the wings.
- Top point behind. Fold the top point a little behind, to flatten the top.
- Round the body. Fold the side corners and the bottom point a little behind.
Fly away home!
Colour the top black for the head and give it two white eyes. Then draw three round black spots on each wing.
