How to fold an origami sitting dog
The head is the classic dog face with droopy ears and a folded nose. The body is a big triangle with a corner folded up into a tail. Glue the head on top and draw the face.
You need: 2 square sheets the same size and colour, and a glue stick. Easy, 10 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Head: make a triangle. Start with the head. Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom corner.
- Head: left ear down. Fold the left corner down at a slant so it hangs like a floppy ear.
- Head: right ear down. Do the same with the right corner.
- Head: fold the nose up. Fold just the front layer's bottom tip up a little to make the nose.
- Head: tuck the back tip. Fold the back tip behind on the same line so the chin is flat. The head is done.
- Body: new sheet. Set the head aside. Take the second square, white side up, turned like a diamond.
- Body: make a triangle. Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner.
- Body: fold up the tail. Fold the right corner up at a slant, creasing from just right of the middle of the bottom edge, so it sticks out past the side like a wagging tail.
- Body: fold the chest behind. Fold the left corner behind on a straight up-and-down line, a quarter of the way in, so the dog's chest stands up straight.
- Glue on the head. Dab glue on the body's top point and press the head on, so the point hides behind the dog's face.
Woof woof!
Draw two eyes and colour in the nose.
