How to fold an origami lily
Fold an orange square into a slim point, snip one gently curved cut, and open it into a lily with six pointed petals. Draw the stamens and freckles on.
You need: 1 square sheet (15 cm), orange on one side, scissors and a black pen. Medium, 9 steps, about 12 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Orange side up, fold the top edge down to the bottom edge. The middle of the fold is the middle of the lily.
- Fold the right part over. Fold from the middle of the fold to a point on the bottom edge 4.3 cm right of its middle, bringing the right part over.
- Fold the left part over. Fold the left part over along the edge of the flap you just made. The paper is now folded in thirds.
- Fold the point in half. Fold the left half of the point over onto the right half, lining up the edges.
- Cut the petals. Cut from the left edge 7 cm from the point, curving out a little, to the right edge 3 cm from the point.
- Unfold. Unfold the last fold.
- Unfold again. Unfold the left part.
- And again. Unfold the right part.
- Open it flat. Unfold the top half. Six pointed petals!
