How to fold an origami llama face
Fold a long narrow kite, snip the top and spread the two halves into tall ears. A little cream puff glued between them makes the fluffy top.
You need: 1 tan square, 15 × 15 cm, 1 cream square, 4 × 4 cm, scissors, glue and a marker. Medium, 11 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Turn the square like a diamond, white side up. Fold the left corner onto the right corner.
- Open it again. Unfold it, so there is a crease down the middle.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the middle crease.
- Make it long. Fold the two upper edges in to the middle crease too. Now you have a long, narrow face.
- Turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
- Snip the ears. Cut down the middle crease from the top point to about a third of the way down the face.
- Spread the ears. Fold the inner edge of each half out a little, on a line from the end of the cut, so the two ears lean apart.
- Blunt the chin. Fold the bottom point behind, about 3 cm up, to make the soft muzzle.
- Tuft: new sheet. Set the head aside. Take the little cream square, cream side up.
- Fluff the tuft. Fold the four corners behind, about 1 cm in, so the square turns into a round puff.
- Glue on the tuft. Glue the puff onto the top of the head, between the ears, so its top half sticks up above the face.
No drama, llama!
