How to fold an origami long-eared owl
Fold the top and sides of a brown square behind, slant the side strips to points, then snip them free and fold them up so they stand over the head as tall ear tufts.
You need: 1 brown square (15 cm), scissors, a black pen and a white pen. Medium, 6 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Top and bottom behind. Brown side up, fold the top edge behind about 4 cm and the bottom edge behind about 3 cm.
- Sides behind. Fold the left and right edges behind, about 2 cm each.
- Point the strips. Turn it over. On each strip, fold the bottom inner corner behind on a slant, so the strip ends in a point at the outside edge. Turn back.
- Snip the strips free. Snip along both side folds from the bottom edge up to the middle, so the lower parts of the strips behind come loose.
- Ear tufts up. Fold each loose strip up behind, on a crease level with the end of the snip, so its point stands up over the head.
- Round the body. Fold the two bottom corners behind, about 3 cm, so the owl's body is round at the bottom.
Whoo goes there?
Draw two big white eyes with dark middles, a small beak between them and little V marks on the chest.
