How to fold an origami little oak
A kite makes the leafy crown, and its white point flips up and back down as the trunk. Fold the corners behind to round the crown.
You need: 1 square sheet, green on one side and white on the other. Easy, 7 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the left corner onto the right corner, crease well and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the centre crease.
- White point behind. Fold the short white point at the bottom up behind, along the bottom edge of the kite.
- Trunk down. Behind, fold its tip back down so it sticks out below. That's the trunk.
- Flat foot. Fold the end of the trunk behind so it stands flat.
- Blunt the top. Fold the long top point behind, about a third of the way down.
- Round the crown. Fold the four corners of the crown behind a little, so it turns round and leafy.
A shady oak!
Draw a few leaf lines and an acorn or two. Make a row of them for a little park.
