How to fold an origami ornament
Fold the top and bottom of a square in to leave a white stripe across the middle, then round it into a ball. Glue on a little folded gold cap and draw the hook.
You need: 1 square sheet (15 cm), blue on one side, a 4 cm gold square, a glue stick, a black pen and a white gel pen. Medium, 7 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Fold up the bottom. White side up. Fold the bottom edge up to 1.5 cm below the middle.
- Fold down the top. Fold the top edge down to 1.5 cm above the middle. A white stripe is left across the middle.
- Fold the sides behind. Fold the left and right ends behind so the paper is a square.
- Round the ball. Fold all four corners behind, about 2.5 cm along each edge, to make a round ball.
- Cap: new sheet. Set the ball aside. Take the small gold square, gold side up.
- Cap: fold top and bottom. Fold the top and bottom edges behind so the cap is a short, wide strip.
- Add the cap. Glue the cap on top of the ball, overlapping its top edge a little.
Deck the tree!
Draw a zigzag on the white stripe, white dots above and below, lines on the cap and a hook on top. Hang it with a thread.
