How to fold an origami pear

Fold a green square into a kite, turn it over and round off the corners for a pear shape. Add a brown stem strip and a little folded leaf.

You need: 1 green square, 1 small green square for the leaf, a small brown strip and a glue stick. Easy, 10 steps, about 7 minutes.

Steps

  1. Pear: make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the middle. It is now narrow at the top and wide near the bottom.
  2. Pear: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
  3. Pear: top and bottom. Fold the top point behind to make a small flat top, and the bottom point behind a little.
  4. Pear: round it. Fold the two side corners behind, and the two bottom corners behind a tiny bit, to make it round at the bottom.
  5. Leaf: new sheet. Set the pear aside. Take the small green square, white side up, like a diamond.
  6. Leaf: make a kite. Fold the two edges beside the bottom corner in so they meet along the middle, like a kite.
  7. Leaf: make it narrow. Fold the two short edges at the other end in to meet along the middle too.
  8. Stem: new sheet. Set the leaf aside. Take the small brown strip, white side up, standing tall.
  9. Stem: fold it in half. Fold the strip in half from left to right, the long way, to make a thin stem.
  10. Put it together. Glue the narrow top of the pear over the foot of the stem, and the leaf behind the stem, pointing up to the right.

A juicy pear!

Draw a few tiny freckles and a white shine on the round bottom.
