How to fold an origami penguin chick
Like the chick, but grey: a kite with its white point folded up so flippers stick out, and its tip turned back down as a big white face. Draw a black cap, eyes and beak.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, grey on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 6 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the diagonal. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in to lie along the centre crease, leaving a white point at the bottom.
- Fold up the flippers. Fold the white bottom point up, creasing 1.5 cm above the side corners, so the corners stick out at the sides as flippers.
- Fold the face. Fold the tip of the point you just folded up back down 3 cm, so its white side makes a big face.
- Flatten the head. Fold the top point behind, leaving a 2 cm grey cap above the face.
- Round it off. Fold the head's two top corners behind a little, and the two bottom corners behind from each flipper tip down to the bottom edge.
Peep, peep, brrr!
Colour the grey cap black, then draw two eyes on the white face, a little black beak and two black feet.
