How to fold an origami little saxophone
Fold a long strip in half, slim it to a cone, then bend the bottom round into a bell and the top over into a crook.
You need: 1 long strip of paper (about 6 x 24 cm), gold or yellow on one side. Easy, 6 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- In half. Start white side up, the strip standing tall. Fold it in half the long way, right onto left.
- Slim it. Fold both long edges behind on slanted lines, so the band is thin at the top and wide at the bottom, like a long cone.
- Flare the bell. Behind, fold the bottom corner of each slim flap back out on a long slant from the band's corner, so the wide end flares out like a bell.
- Bend the bow. Near the bottom, fold the band up on a slant so its end points to the right.
- Bell up. A little way along, fold the end up on a slant, so the wide bell points up beside the body.
- Bend the crook. Near the thin top, fold the tip over on a slant so it points to the left, like the sax's crook.
Play some jazz!
Draw a row of round keys down the body. Hold the crook to your lips and toot!
