How to fold an origami seagull
Fold a grey square into a triangle for the long wings, fold the bottom point up past the top as the head, then droop the wing tips and colour them black.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, grey on one side. Easy, 4 steps, about 3 minutes.
Steps
- Fold a triangle. White side up, like a diamond. Fold the top corner down onto the bottom corner. The long top edge is the front of the wings.
- Head up. Fold the bottom point up through both layers, so its tip pokes 2 cm above the top edge. That is the head.
- Slim the wings. Fold each lower edge up to lie along the top edge, creasing from the wing tip. The wings get long and thin.
- Droop the wing tips. Fold each wing tip down a little on a slant, starting the crease on the top edge 7 cm out from the middle.
Squawk!
Colour the drooping wing tips black and draw two little eyes on the head.
