How to fold an origami sitting bunny
The head is the classic bunny face with snipped ears. The body is a square with its corners folded in and tucked round, and a small square makes a white cotton tail peeking out at the side.
You need: 2 square sheets the same size and colour, a square half as wide for the tail, scissors and a glue stick. Easy, 14 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Head: make a triangle. Start with the head. Fold the top corner down to the bottom corner.
- Head: corners down. Fold the left and right corners down to meet the bottom point.
- Head: snip the ears free. Cut along both slanted folds, from the outer corners about two-thirds of the way to the top centre.
- Head: ears up. Fold both flaps up so their points stick out above the top edge.
- Head: turn it over. Flip the head over. The head is done.
- Tail: small square. Set the head aside. Take the small square with the coloured side up.
- Tail: corners to the middle. Fold all four corners in to meet in the middle, so the tail turns white.
- Tail: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth white side faces you.
- Tail: round it off. Fold the four points behind, just a little, so the tail looks round and fluffy.
- Body: new sheet. Set the tail aside. Take the second big square, white side up.
- Body: corners to the middle. Fold all four corners in to meet in the middle.
- Body: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth coloured side faces you.
- Body: round it off. Fold all four points behind, about a quarter of the way to the middle, so the tummy looks round.
- Glue it together. Glue the tail behind the body so it peeks out at the bottom right, then glue the head on over the body's top.
Hop, hop, hooray!
Draw eyes, a nose and whiskers on the face.
