How to fold an origami skateboard
Fold a long thin deck, then fold each end back and out again on a slant so it kicks up. Two little black octagons are the wheels.
You need: 1 square sheet, coloured on one side, 2 small black squares, a black pen and a glue stick. Medium, 11 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Deck: edges to the middle. Start white side up. Fold the top and bottom edges to the middle.
- Deck: in half. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge.
- Deck: in half again. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge again.
- Deck: and again. Fold it in half one more time. Now it's a long thin deck.
- Fold the ends back. Fold each end back over the deck, about a quarter of the way in from each side.
- Kick up the ends. Fold each end out again, just inside the last fold, on a slant so its tip points up. That's the kick at the nose and tail.
- Wheel: new sheet. Set the deck aside. Take a small black square.
- Wheel: corners behind. Fold all four corners behind to make a round wheel.
- Second wheel. Set it aside. Take the other small black square.
- Wheel: corners behind. Fold its corners behind the same way.
- Put it together. Glue the two wheels a little way under the deck, one near each end, with a small gap between deck and wheels.
Kickflip!
Draw a black truck from the deck down to each wheel and a white dot in the middle of each wheel.
