How to fold an origami skillet
One sheet: crease the bottom half and snip it free at the sides, fold it behind twice into a slim handle, then round the top square into the pan with two rounds of corner folds.
You need: 1 black rectangle, 10 x 20 cm (two squares side by side), scissors and a white pen. Medium, 9 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Crease across. Black side up, fold the bottom half up onto the top half.
- Open it. Unfold it again.
- Two snips. Snip along the crease from each side, stopping just over half a centimetre short of the middle.
- Slim the handle. Fold the two sides of the bottom half behind so they meet in the middle.
- Slimmer. Fold the new sides behind to meet in the middle again.
- Slimmest. Once more: fold the sides behind to the middle. The handle reaches the ends of the snips and is just over 1 cm wide.
- Round the pan. Fold the four corners of the top square behind, about 3 cm along each edge.
- Round it more. Fold the eight new corners behind a little, so the pan is nice and round.
- Turn it. Turn the pan so the handle points to the right.
Sizzle!
Draw a white hole near the end of the handle so it can hang on a hook.
