How to fold an origami teacup

Fold a white rim down and the sides behind, then swing part of one side flap back out on a fold through the top of its crease for the handle. Round the bottom into a bowl.

You need: 1 blue rectangle, 15 x 8 cm. Medium, 5 steps, about 8 minutes.

Steps

  1. White rim. Blue side up, fold the top edge down about 1 cm so a white band shows.
  2. Sides behind. Fold both sides behind, about 2.5 cm each.
  3. Swing out the handle. Behind, fold the right flap back out on a steep slant from the top of its crease. A triangle sticks out at the side: the handle.
  4. Round the bowl. Fold the two bottom corners behind, about 2 cm along each edge.
  5. Rounder. Fold the four new corners behind a little, so the bowl is nice and round.

Tea time!

Draw a little flower or two on the side of your cup.
