How to fold an origami little space shuttle
A kite with its long point up is slimmed into a body. Its hidden flaps fold back out as big delta wings, and the tail folds flat across the wing tips.
You need: 1 square sheet, grey or light blue on one side. Easy, 7 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Make a kite. Put the square coloured side up like a diamond. Fold the left and right corners behind so they meet in the middle: a kite with its long point up.
- Slim the right side. Fold the right side behind on a straight up-and-down line close to the middle, so the body gets slim.
- Wing out. Behind, fold that flap back out on a line just a little nearer the middle. A big wing sticks out at the back.
- Slim the left side. Fold the left side behind the same way, matching the right.
- Wing out. Fold that flap back out too, so the shuttle has a wing on each side.
- Flat tail. Fold the bottom point behind on a straight line across through the wing tips, so the back of the shuttle is flat.
- Round nose. Fold the very tip of the nose behind, just a little.
Lift-off!
Colour the nose black, draw two cockpit windows and a line down the payload bay. Count down from ten and fly it round the room.
