How to fold an origami squirrel face

Fold the corners of a triangle down and swing them back up as tall ears, turn it over, then fold the bottom point up into a white muzzle with a little brown nose. Dark ear tips make the tufts.

You need: 1 square sheet, red-brown on one side. Easy, 8 steps, about 5 minutes.

Steps

  1. Make a triangle. Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom corner.
  2. Corners down. Fold the left and right corners down to meet the bottom point.
  3. Ears up. Fold each flap back up on a line from its side corner to the centre crease, halfway between the middle and the top point, so its point stands up tall.
  4. Flat top. Fold the top point of the head behind, just below where the ears cross its edges.
  5. Turn it over. Flip the squirrel over so the smooth side faces you.
  6. Muzzle up. Fold just the front layer's bottom point up, so a white muzzle shows.
  7. Nose down. Fold the white tip back down a little, so a small brown nose sits on top of the muzzle.
  8. Flat chin. Fold the bottom point behind.

Hello, squirrel!

Colour the ear tips dark for tufts and the nose too, then draw two big eyes and a mouth with two buck teeth.
