How to fold an origami stocking
The paper folds into a long strip with a white cuff at the top, and one slanted fold turns the bottom out sideways as the foot.
You need: 1 sheet of A4 or Letter paper. Easy, 6 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Fold the cuff. Start coloured side up. Fold a strip about two fingers wide at the top down. It will be the white cuff.
- Turn it over. Flip the paper over, keeping the white strip at the top.
- Sides to the centre. Fold the left and right edges in to meet in the middle.
- Fold in half. Fold in half from left to right, making a long narrow strip.
- Fold out the foot. A little over a third of the way up, fold the bottom of the strip out to the right on a slant, so its bottom edge stands straight up and the foot sticks out.
- Round the toe. Fold the two corners at the end of the foot behind.
Hang it up!
Punch a hole in the cuff and thread a ribbon through, or glue it on a Christmas card.
