How to fold an origami toy robot
Roll the sides of a blue square behind into thick strips. Snip their ends free: the top parts swing out as arms, the bottom parts hang as legs, and the body folds up into a chest panel.
You need: 1 square sheet (15 cm), blue on one side, scissors and a black and a white pen. Medium, 5 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Roll the sides. Coloured side up, fold the left and right edges behind about 1.5 cm.
- Roll again. Fold them behind once more, so each side has a thick strip behind it.
- Snip arms and legs. Snip along both side folds from the top edge down to about a third, and from the bottom edge up to about a quarter.
- Arms out. Fold each loose top strip down and out behind, on a slant from the inner end of the snip, so it sticks out sideways as an arm.
- Legs and chest. Fold the body between the loose bottom strips up in front, level with the snips. The strips hang down as legs; the white part is the chest.
Beep boop!
Draw two round eyes and a mouth grille on the head, and buttons on the white chest panel.
