How to fold an origami erupting volcano
Fold a red triangle and swing its side corners up so three jets of lava burst out, then fold a brown cone with a flat crater and glue the lava in behind.
You need: 1 red square (12 cm) and 1 brown square (15 cm), both white on the back, and glue. Medium, 6 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Lava: fold a triangle. Take the red square, white side up, turned like a diamond. Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner.
- Lava: jets up. Fold each side corner up and out on a slant, so three red jets point up like a burst of lava.
- Cone: new sheet. Set the lava aside. Take the brown square, white side up, turned like a diamond.
- Cone: fold a triangle. Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner.
- Cone: crater. Fold the top corner behind on a level line, about 4 cm down, for the flat crater.
- Erupt!. Glue the lava behind the cone so the three jets burst up out of the crater.
Kaboom!
Draw a few rocky cracks running down the cone.
