How to fold an origami waving penguin
White side up, fold the top and bottom edges over for the head and feet and roll the sides in as black strips. Snip their lower parts free and swing them out as flippers.
You need: 1 square sheet (15 cm), black on one side, scissors and a white pen. Medium, 6 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Head and feet. White side up, fold the top edge down about 4 cm for the head, and the bottom edge up about 1 cm for the feet.
- Roll the sides. Fold the left and right edges in about 1.5 cm.
- Roll again. Fold them in once more, so each side is a thick black strip.
- Snip the flippers free. Snip along the outer fold of each strip from the bottom edge up to just below the head.
- Flippers out. Fold each loose strip out on a slant from the inner end of the snip, so it sticks out to the side as a flipper.
- Round it off. Fold all four corners of the body behind, about 2 cm, so the head and tummy are round. Keep the flippers out.
