How to fold an origami wheelbarrow
Fold a red tray with a white rim, a round black wheel, and two brown strips bent into a V of handles and a pair of legs. Glue it all together, ready to push.
You need: 1 red rectangle, 1 small black square, 2 brown strips (1 long, 1 short), a glue stick and a white pen. Medium, 11 steps, about 12 minutes.
Steps
- Tray: white rim. Take the red rectangle, red side up, lying long ways. Fold the top edge down a little to make a white rim.
- Tray: slope the ends. Fold the bottom corners behind on slants: a big one on the right for the tipping end, a thin one on the left.
- Wheel: new square. Set the tray aside. Take the black square, black side up.
- Wheel: make it round. Fold all four corners a little behind, so the wheel is round.
- Handles: new strip. Set the wheel aside. Take the long brown strip, white side up, lying long ways.
- Handles: fold in half. Fold it in half the long way, top edge down to the bottom edge.
- Handles: make a V. Fold the right half over to the left, but on a slight slant, so the two halves spread apart a little. These are the two handles.
- Legs: new strip. Set the handles aside. Take the short brown strip, white side up, standing tall.
- Legs: fold in half. Fold it in half the long way, left edge over to the right edge.
- Legs: bend it. Fold the top half down on a slant, so it points down and out to the left. Now there are two legs.
- Glue it together. Glue the handles behind the legs, the V's point to the right. Glue the tray on top, then the wheel over the V's point.
Off to the garden!
Draw a white hub in the middle of the wheel.
